In moving development plans to implementation, assembling the right team for implementation is critical. In Daybreak, a local TND community and the 6th best selling community in the country, Kennecott Land Company/Rio Tinto has assembled a formula for success in this development context. The team is composed of three critical disciplines: Community Development Director/Town Architect, consulting architects and local builders. The collaborative, round table approach has contributed to a substantial improvement in the quality of the implementation in Daybreak and the Salt Lake region. A panel of these members can provide insight to key relationships to the current and future interface between the design and the building industry. A presentation can include detailed description of roles and responsibilities and additional 'team' models that have worked in alternate contexts. Key takeaways for designers and developers can include how to implement this strategy and how to adopt these roles into your own business. |
